AVEBE appoints new members to its Supervisory Board

Today the Members' Council of AVEBE today appointed Henk van Dalen (61) and Peter Poortinga (52) as members of AVEBE's Supervisory Board.

Until recently Van Dalen was CFO of Vimpelcom, a Nasdaq listed international telecom company. He has gained ample administrative and financial experience at multinationals such as DSM and TNT, where he was a member of the Board of Directors. Van Dalen is currently a member of the Supervisory Board of Rabobank Nederland, is chairman of the Supervisory Board of Macintosh Retail Group and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM).

Poortinga is CEO of Plukon Food Group, which produces poultry meat and meals. Poortinga has ample administrative experience. He is vice chairman of the Dutch association for the poultry processing industry (Nepluvi), a member of the board of the Bundesverband der Geflügelschlachtereien, a member of the board of the PVE (Product Board for Poultry and Eggs) and until September 2013 he was a member of the Council on Animal Affairs of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation.

The cooperative believes that Van Dalen and Poortinga will form a valuable addition to the Supervisory Board and looks forward with confidence to the working relationship with them.

André Olijslager stepped down as a supervisory director according to the rotation schedule with effect from today's date. He was also vice-chairman of the Supervisory Board. AVEBE is very grateful to him for all the work he has done for the company over many years.

FAO Food Price Index firm in June: higher vegetable oil, sugar and dairy prices offset lower cereal quotations

The FAO Food Price Index* (FFPI) stood at 120.6 points in June 2024, unchanged from its revised figure for May, as increases in the price indices for vegetable oil, sugar and dairy products balanced out a decrease in the price index for cereals, while the meat index was almost unchanged.

FAO Food Price Index slightly up in May: higher cereal and dairy prices offset easing sugar and vegetable oil quotations

The FAO Food Price Index* (FFPI) stood at 120.4 points in May 2024, up 1.1 points (0.9 percent) from its revised April level, as increases in the price indices for cereals and dairy products slightly more than offset decreases in those for sugar and vegetable oils, while the meat price index was almost unchanged.

The FAO Food Price Index (FFPI) stood at 119.1 points in April 2024, up 0.3 points (0.3 percent) from its revised March level, as an increase in the price index for meat and smaller upturns of vegetable oil and cereal indices slightly more than offset decreases in those for sugar and dairy products.
