New Brunswick potato crop of good quality
In New Brunswick, the 2010 potato harvest is 98% complete. This year's potato crop is storing well, with very little in-storage rot reported.
Good soil conditions throughout harvest coupled with a limited number of low temperature occurrences have growers anticipating few defects, good sugar content and an overall good quality crop.
The Russet portion of the crop is smooth with a good size profile and a heavier than normal russet, making it a beautiful crop, especially for the count trade market.
