Good news about fast-food french fries: Tests show they are free of artery-clogging trans fats. The chains stopped using trans fats to make fries over the past few years, but ShopSmart magazine from Consumer Reports, tested some samples from Burger King, McDonald’s and Wendy’s just to make sure.
“We found that no samples of fries contained more than 0.4 grams of trans fats per serving, which under government regulations can be rounded down to zero,” the editors write in the February/March issue.
