KMC’s annual meeting was held on November 28, 2008 and Chairman Martin Arvad was pleased to report of a year in which KMC not only celebrated its 75 year anniversary, but also of a year that presented one of the best results in KMC’s history.

In Denmark, as well as in most of Europe, the weather was ideal for potato growing and the crops were good. Adequate amounts of starch are therefore available to cover the demands in the markets.

The year 2008/2009 has also started on a positive note, but the international financial crisis is beginning to show its effect also in the starch sector.

As an added challenge the starch sector also has to adjust to the phasing out of the EU agricultural subsidies during the next few of years.

KMC still looks to the future with optimism.
