Fiji, a country in the South Pacific consisting of more than 300 islands, has been relying on import from Australia and New Zealand for most of its potato supply.
However, starting around 2010 the government has made their mission to stimulate the cultivation of potatoes locally, in order to become less dependent on imports.
Potato chips are produced on Fiji locally as well, but so far from imported potatoes.
