In March 2012, “Kraft Foods Global, Inc.” changed its name to “Kraft Foods Group, Inc.” “Kraft Foods Group, Inc.” was a wholly owned subsidiary of Mondelēz International until October 1, 2012.
On that date, Mondelēz International spun-off Kraft Foods Group, comprising its North American grocery business, to Mondelēz International’s shareholders. Mondelēz International now holds the global snacks business, and Kraft Foods Group now holds the North American grocery business.
As a result of the Spin-Off, Kraft Foods Group now operate as an independent, publicly traded company.
In July 2015, the company merged with Heinz to from Kraft Heinz. Kraft Foods Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: KRFT) is one of North America's largest consumer packaged food and beverage companies, with annual revenues of more than USD 18 billion.
The company's iconic brands include Kraft, Capri Sun, Jell-O, Kool-Aid, Lunchables, Maxwell House, Oscar Mayer, Philadelphia, Planters and Velveeta.
Kraft employs 22,000 employees in the U.S. and Canada. Kraft is a member of the Standard & Poor's 500 and the NASDAQ-100 indices.
