The Heat and Control® global design team has been proactively researching and developing innovative technologies and is releasing multiple innovative solutions at PACKEXPO International 2024.

Today’s environmental and sustainability benchmarks demand new approaches to food processing resource management and equipment design. These market requirements form the foundation for new technologies which Heat and Control developed to support a transforming industry.

Water Sustainability & Raw Produce Preparation—Cascade Water Recirculation

The debut of industry leading solutions that support water sustainability goals includes various technologies in raw produce preparation for products, such as potato chips and french fries, that follow the Cascade Water Recirculation process design. 

This design methodology, coupled with new technologies, will help food processors reduce fresh water consumption by up to 75% without compromising product quality or equipment reliability. 

Heat and Control brings two key components to the design table: a newly designed Slice Wash Support Module (SWSM) and Process Recirculation Support Module (PRSM).

Airborne Dust Mitigation & Seasoning Application Efficiency—Symphony 

A new approach to snack food seasoning for both FastBack® and Spray Dynamics® seasoning applications that controls fugitive dust to improve the working environment and that reduces seasoning ingredient waste has resulted in Heat and Control’s new seasoning systems capability—Symphony. 

FastBack Symphony On-Machine Seasoning System and Spray Dynamics Symphony In-Kitchen Seasoning System both integrate seasoning ingredient capture and containment and application consistency technologies, which significantly reduce the airborne nature of seasoning ingredients. 

Because the seasonings are potentially hazardous for operators, the containment ensures that seasoning ingredients are targeted to the product and that waste is reduced. 

Horizontal Motion Conveying Next Generation—Size-up with FastBack 4.0 (250) 

Horizontal motion conveying innovation continues in 2024 with an addition to the FastBack 4.0 toolkit–FastBack 4.0 (250). Heat and Control released the fourth generation of FastBack horizontal motion conveying at PACKEXPO International 2022 with the FastBack 4.0 (100) for multihead weigher infeed applications. Launching at PACKEXPO International 2024, the FastBack 4.0 (250) model provides a mid-range capacity distribution for a wide variety of applications. 

The FastBack 4.0 generation is a unique patented circular to linear motion design that provides the ultimate performance and flexibility and the industry’s highest travel rates and flow rate capacity. 

Also at PACKEXPO International 2024, Fastback is revealing their latest generation patented proportional feed solution for packaging and on-machine seasoning--Revolution® Proportional Gate 3.0. Since its introduction in 2005, Revolution Proportional Gate 3.0 has continued design advancement for sanitation, safety, and reduced product breakage.
