Agri-Tech innovator unveils new iteration of crop insights tool

February 01, 2023
Harvesteye is set to launch the newest version of its industry leading machine-learning driven root crops insights tool at Fruit Logistica, the world’s largest fresh produce trade fair.

Fitting to harvesting and grading equipment, HarvestEye is an effective method to deliver performance data on size and count and also maps variability of root crops, which is currently compatible with potatoes and onions.

Refreshed software and more powerful hardware in the 2.0 system will deliver faster crop measurement and processing, with improved detections leading to better accuracy of data reported to its online portal. The refreshed software will also enhance HarvestEye’s capabilities to operate more effectively in challenging environments, such as low evening sun.

New subscription options on Harvest Eye 2.0 for growers and enterprises, as well as leasing options, are also available as part of the renewed offering.

Global fresh produce event Fruit Logistica, which is running from 8-10 February in Berlin, Germany, features more than 2,500 exhibitors from more than 90 countries, with 72,000 trade visitors expected to attend over the three days.

Vidyanath (Vee) Gururajan, managing director of HarvestEye:

"We are incredibly excited to be exhibiting the new HarvestEye 2.0 system to the global fresh produce industry at Fruit Logistica 2023 and showcase the actionable insights it will place in the hands of growers."

"Following more than five years of research, development, grower trials and input from across global supply chains, our team has made significant upgrades to the product’s hardware and machine learning driven software capabilities to create a more powerful system altogether."

"Version 2.0 is a significant evolution for growers and packers seeking better monitoring tools for crop variability to maximise yield and enhance planning. Amid current market uncertainties, supply chains need to be confident in the quality of produce they receive as production costs soar."

"We continue to set a precedence in harvest performance analysis, and we look forward to interacting with attendees at Fruit Logistica."
HarvestEye will be exhibiting in Hall 3.1 Stand C-47 at Fruit Logistica alongside other innovators in farming machinery and technology, with the team available for media briefings throughout the event.
