Rick Vivatson of Cavalier, North Dakota became the Northern Plains Potato Grower's Association's 65th Chairman last Tuesday at the organization's annual meeting and banquet. He succeeds Lance Hapka from Argyle, Minnesota.
Rick farms in a partnership with his brother Bob and his son Robert. The third generation partnership has raised chip, process and fresh potatoes since they took over the operation in 1974.
Rick has been married for 32 years to his wife Deb who is a Nurse Practitioner at Altru Clinic in Cavalier. They have two grown daughters, Kelsey, who is a Registered Nurse at North Dakota Surgery Center in Grand Forks and Koree, who is a senior nursing student at UND.
