By offering HMI GPS Planting Comfort, Miedema addresses potato growers’ need to increase efficiency through the use of GPS. The special Miedema HMI terminal with GPS Planting Comfort communicates with the tractor’s GPS system, adding tremendous functionality to Miedema CP and MS planters.

User-friendly

The HMI (Human Machine Interface) terminal is a familiar feature on many Miedema machines. For several years now the colourful control panel has formed the basis of the user-friendly control system for machines such as the MB 33 and 55 box fillers, ML store loaders, CP planters with hydraulic drive and all the MS belt bed planters.

Precision agriculture

Especially for the planters, Miedema has supplemented the HMI with a GPS Planting Comfort module. This allows potato growers to automatically establish spray tracks and switch planting elements on and off for individual rows in sections with irregular boundaries. If the planter is equipped with a Ferti-Flow fertiliser unit, this too can be automatically switched on and off at the same time. The result is that no part of the section remains unused or is planted twice, while HMI GPS Planting Comfort precisely determines the section area, along with the planting time, average plant spacing and the number of planted tubers per row. These data are stored in the HMI and can be placed on a USB stuck for transfer to a computer, where they can be read into Excel and used in a business management system.
