Dr Rob Clayton has been appointed Director of the Potato Council, a division of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), following a two month spell acting as the interim director of that division.
Dr Clayton has over 20 years experience within the potato industry and holds a degree in agricultural science and a doctorate in plant pathology.
Richard Lowe, Interim Chief Executive of AHDB said: "Rob has a very good grasp of the issues affecting the potato sector, he has also demonstrated excellent leadership and customer communication skills over recent weeks and will hit the ground running as an important member of the AHDB Senior Executive Team".
Allan Stevenson, chairman of the Potato Council Board commented: “This appointment comes with full endorsement from my board and me. We look forward to continuing to work with Rob to deliver value to our levy-payers.”
