PEI Potato growers supplying McCain Foods get better price after arbitration
Potato farmers selling potatoes to McCain Foods have seen their contract improved after going to arbitration.
The farmers had complained McCain's offer price was not even close to what Cavendish Farms is giving its farmers. The issue went to arbitration, and the decision came down Tuesday.
The P.E.I. Potato Board would not give details, but said the deal is comparable to the one with Cavendish Farms.
The decision of the arbitrator is binding.
