Boise-based J.R. Simplot Co. has purchased H &R Ag Inc., a Pasco-based agriculture supplier and retail business.
No financial details of Monday's deal were disclosed. But Bill Whitacre, president of the Simplot AgriBusiness Group, said the acquisition follows the company's plan to expand into new products, services and areas in the Northwest.
H &R Ag Inc. is a retail ag business that provides crop nutrition and protection products to farmers, said Dave Dufault, vice president and general manager of Simplot AgriBusiness Retail Division.
The company, which has eight full-time employees, was started by Richard Underwood in 1988.
