HOFF SA - Sundnes Brenneri is one of the production facilities of HOFF Norske potetindustrier and includes a distillery where the liquor akvavit (aquavit) is produced from potato and caraway.
The plant was started in 1844, four years before private distilling was banned.
Hoff used to have a second distillation plant in Stange (Atlungstad Brenneri). This plant was acquired in 1995, but regular production in this plant stopped in 2000 and the plant was closed in 2008 altogether. The plant was sold in June 2011 to Atlungstad Brenneri AS, who maintains and runs the distillery as an industrial heritage site.
