Instalarán en Andahuaylas primera planta industrial de procesamiento de almidón de papa del Perú

A fines de abril, entrará en funcionamiento la primera planta de procesamiento de papa del Perú en la provincia de Andahuaylas (Apurímac) y producirá en el primer año unas 324 toneladas de almidón para abastecer el mercado nacional, principalmente hospitales, informaron autoridades locales.

Rodolfo Beltrán, director ejecutivo del programa Desarrollo Productivo Agrario Rural (Agrorural) sostuvo que el objetivo del proyecto es aprovechar la calidad tercera de la producción de papas del departamento de Apurímac y darle un valor agregado mediante su procesamiento. Coincidiendo con el aniversario de Apurímac, el 28 de abril empezará a operar la planta de almidón que beneficiará a unas 23 mil 700 familias campesinas, productoras de papa en Andahuaylas.
