Rick Urschel appointed president and CEO of Urschel Laboratories

Urschel Laboratories, Inc. - manufacturer of industrial food cutting equipment - proudly announces the appointment of Rick Urschel by the board of directors from vice president of operations to president/CEO effective September 13, 2013. Bob Urschel, president/CEO for the past 30 years, will remain actively involved with the company as chairman of the board.

"As I pass the leadership of the company on to my son Rick, I am fully confident in his abilities as the new president and CEO of Urschel Laboratories,” stated Bob Urschel.

Rick Urschel, fourth generation of the Urschel family, started working at Urschel in 1991. With a management degree from Purdue University, full working knowledge of every department within the company, and a passion for technology, he embraces the legacy of carrying on in the footsteps of the Urschel family of innovators.

One of the few privately held, family-run U.S. manufacturing companies, Urschel Laboratories, Inc. is the global leader in food cutting technology. Founded in Valparaiso, Indiana, in 1910, by William Urschel, the company recently acquired approximately 160 acres of land in the neighboring town of Chesterton and is in the process of constructing what will become its new manufacturing and global headquarters.
