The holder is free with a purchase of an extra-value meal and large fries, and it'll be available in Japan through the end of May.
McDonald's Japan has also launched a twitter campaign, inviting consumers to share how they use the cupholder.
Unfortunately for people elsewhere in the world, the potato holder will only be made available as a promotional item in Japan.
