ConAgra Foods, Inc., announced late last week that Greg Schlafer will join the company on Feb. 25 as president of its Lamb Weston frozen potato business. In alignment with ConAgra Foods’ ambition to grow its core, international and private brands businesses, Schlafer will have specific responsibility for running Lamb Weston’s global business which serves more than 2,500 restaurant, foodservice and retail customers in 120 countries.
“Greg brings a customer-focused approach, 20-plus years of experience in the food industry, and a proven track record of success in the commercial/business-to-business space,” said Paul Maass, president of Commercial Foods for ConAgra Foods. “I’m confident his leadership will add tremendous value for our customers, our suppliers, and our team as we continue maximizing the longterm potential of this important part of ConAgra Foods’ business.”
Schlafer most recently served as vice president of the Bakeries &Foodservice division for General Mills. In that role, he was responsible for sales and profit delivery of all segment business units, including foodservice and convenience store channels, quick-serve restaurants, bakeries and milling, and in-store fresh bakery at retail. Throughout his career, Schlafer has built strong partnerships with several important customers with whom Lamb Weston also does business. He earned his MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management and his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota.
Lamb Weston, a Commercial Foods brand of ConAgra Foods, is a leading supplier of frozen potato, sweet potato, appetizer and other vegetable products, serving both the foodservice and retail industries across the globe.
