Potato wart disease cleared from Northern Irish fields

A scheme to clear fields in Northern Ireland of potato wart disease has been hailed as a success. Agriculture Minister Michelle O’Neill announced the conclusion of a major exercise to clear fields placed under restriction due to the presence of the disease.

The ten year scheme to clear more than 700 fields has seen the disease removed from them altogether.
