Potato growers in Britain this year have had to endure the worst of conditions and the wet weather has caused crop loss and stress - so much so that when potatoes are harvested and stored this year they will be worth much more and will need protecting, especially for storage quality.
Using Fazor (maleic hydrazide) on potato crops in the field around five weeks to harvest is suggested to be a good start as it helps suppress sprouting in store and will reduce volunteer potatoes in next year’s crop.
