Potato Export Ukraine more than tripled in 2017

In 2017, the Ukraine exported 17.6 thousand tonnes of potatoes, 3.5 times more than in 2016, according to the press service of the Agrarian Policy Ministry.

The main importers of Ukrainian potatoes were Belarus (10.5 thousand tonnes, worth $2.6 million), Moldova (4 thousand tonnes, worth $0.5 million) and Azerbaijan (2.5 thousand tonnes, worth $ 242 thousand).

At the same time, the Ukraine imported 3,800 tonnes of potatoes worth $2.05 million in 2017. Potatoes were imported from the Netherlands (1.4 thousand tonnes worth $859 thousand) and Egypt (0.5 thousand tonnes worth $207 thousand). .

In 2017, Ukraine’s foreign trade surplus on this position totaled $1.4 million.

The total Ukrainian agricultural exports in 2017 reached almost $18 billion, up 16.3% compared to 2016.
