New Equipment adds flexibility to packaging operation PEI potato exporter
New packaging equipment at a Prince Edward Island potato packer, purchased with a loan from ACOA (the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency), is expected to help the company reach new customers.
ACOA announced the $250,000 loan to J & S Visser Produce of Orwell Cove.
The company will add a baler and bagger system, allowing the company to move quickly between types of potatoes and various packaging sizes. This will increase the variety of potato products offered and potentially attract new consumers.
