Well, we have seen many weird potato chips flavours in recent years. Nevertheless, Tesco managed to create a novelty in crisps flavours: a complete Christmas dinner in crisps flavours.
Tesco nicknamed it the ‘Crispmas Dinner collection’ and it’s surely one of the most unusual snack selections ever launched for the festive season
As starters there’s Wensleydale and cranberry cheese flavour or spiced gammon crisps;then there’s Christmas dinner in the form of roast turkey and stuffing with onion gravy flavour. And if that isn’t enough then as a dessert there’s the UK’s first ever sweet crisps in the form of mince pie flavour which are seasoned with dried fruit, spices and buttery pastry.

Tesco crisps buyer Chris Gee said: “These limited edition crisps have been launched with the party season in mind and we think people will be able to have a lot of fun with them. These crisps will be a hit with anyone who loves Christmas dinner and wants a sneak taste of the seasonal feast ahead of the big day.
“We’ve worked with some of the UK’s top crisp making experts and have selected premium grade potatoes and carefully selected seasonings to make sure they taste as special as you’d expect of the grandest meal of the year.”
The crisps were inspired by Michelin-starred gourmet chef Hans Van Wolde, who is known as the Dutch Heston Blumenthal and who worked with Tesco’s suppliers on creating unique vanilla salt crisps.
They are made in Devon from the Hermes variety of potatoes which are grown in Cornwall and Hampshire and are delivered daily to be washed, peeled and sliced. The thinly sliced potatoes are then hand-cooked in high oleic sunflower oil.Hand cooking in small batches ensures an even golden colour and delicious crunch. The crisps are made with no artificial flavours, colours or MSG.
