Snack manufacturer Utz Quality Foods adds Pedestrian Bridge for staff and community
Snack manufacturer Utz Quality Foods recently completed a pedestrian bridge at their High Street manufacturing and corporate office designed to benefit company associates and the community.
The pedestrian bridge directly connects Utz’s main associate entrance with the parking lot, eliminating the need to cross the traffic-laden High Street.
The top-of-the-line pedestrian bridge is the culmination of other ongoing initiatives and investments being made by Utz Quality Foods to remain a leader in the competitive snack food market and ensure an optimal work-place for all associates.

Local motorists and Hanover residents will see a reduction in congestion, particularly during the morning and afternoon commute, as Utz Associates enter and exit the building via the bridge.
The traditional crosswalk will remain available for visitors to enter the Utz Corporate offices or Factory Tour facilities.
George Neiderer, Vice President Human Resources, Utz Quality Foods, Inc.:
“Safety for our associates was our number one concern when we made the decision to install a pedestrian bridge.”
“We are pleased that in addition to providing a better passageway into our facilities, that we have made a positive impact on the community by easing the flow of traffic through this area.”
In addition to working directly with the Borough of Hanover, Utz partnered on this project with: Conewago Enterprises, Swam Electric, Schindler Elevator and Schaedler Yesco. With these partners, Utz was able to complete the project on-time and on-budget, despite a challenging winter season.
