Already a long time the company Pizzoli from Budrio Italy, needed to increase the production capacity of their potato products factory.
Together with BMA Nederland they studied the various options which could bring the desired result.
The project should be realized under the condition that the production could not be stopped for longer as 3 weeks, and it should be realized in the very limited available space.
So finally it was decided that the best option would be to replace the following key components like: pre-cooler, fryer and pre-dryer to get the maximum capacity out of the existing French fries production line.
Additional to these key components new transport conveyors, de-fatting and de-watering units where necessary. It was also decided to choose for a new electrical control panel, in order to minimize works to be executed on site. Further Pizzoli needed to increase the capacity of the utilities like steam, condensate, thermal oil and ammonia systems. So all together it was a very complicated project, which should be realized within a very short (4 month’s) production time, and with an incredibly short installation and commissioning time.
So in other words, mistakes were not allowed!
Pizzoli granted BMA Nederland to execute the project, and due to a very good organization and cooperation between all involved parties, the project was realized within the preset conditions.
Not only the capacity of the production line was increased, but by using the latest developments of BMA Nederland, also product quality has slightly improved.
Recent years BMA has put lot of effort in optimizing the oil flow through their fryers. The result is that every single French fries stick has the same retention time in the frying oil, and also the frying oil has over the width of the frying kettle no temperature differences.
In the dryer and pre cooler BMA has concentrated on optimal air flow and hygienic aspects like easy to clean and HACCP design.

The many years of experience in manufacturing equipment for the food processing industry, helped BMA Automation to build and program the electric control panel in the right way. So it was only a matter of installing and connecting the machines and push the start button to start production again.
