El jueves 3 de marzo del 2011 en la galería “Ecuador Gourmet” de Quito se realizó el lanzamiento de dos productos innovadores elaborados a base de las papas nativas Yana Shungo (Corazón Negro) y Puca Shungo (Corazón Rojo). Los actores principales fueron el Consorcio de Pequeños Productores de papa (CONPAPA) y la empresa privada INALPROCES. El evento recibió amplia cobertura en prensa escrita, TV y radio.
