October 07, 2010
The potato harvest in Jerome Idaho is in full swing right now.

The United States Department of Agriculture estimates of the fall production in the United States is down more than 4%.
Striking is the reduction in Idaho, which is down almost 8%.

But, local farmers said things are looking good.

Joey Wallace, the Farm Manager, watches his crew work and explains 2010's crop is strong.

"This year they've been going fantastic. The weather has been great. So far as we've been digging things look great and crops look big,” said Joey Wallace, Driscoll Brothers.

"I don't know if it will be our prime year. We were concerned in the spring, but things look good,” said Wallace.
