The potato harvest in North Dakota continued slowly as the first frost of the season hit this week, according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service, North Dakota Field Office. Persistent, widespread precipitation has caused harvest problems across the state. Potatoes were 44 percent dug, an increase of 29 percentage points over last week and 7 percent ahead of the five-year average.

Minnesota

The potato harvest in Minnesota has reached 50 percent completion compared to 35 percent last year at this time according to the USDA, NASS, Minnesota Field Office. The five year average is 47 percent.
