Orlando's Frito-Lay plant is using less water and electricity to make the snack chips that roll off its factory conveyors each day on Silver Star Road. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recognized the facility's efforts Tuesday, adding it to the National Environmental Performance Track Program. Frito-Lay Orlando is one of only 21 Performance Track facilities in Florida, along with a local Lockheed Martin Corp. facility. The program recognizes businesses that, among other things, have a record of environmental compliance and set three-year goals for improving their performance.
