According to reports in the Danish media, Wernsing Feinkost has bought the Danish French fry manufacturer Flensted. Accumulating losses at the Danish french fry manufacturer Flensted, made a buyout inevitably, with multiple companies said to be interested.
CEO Johannes Nielsen was asked how he managed to sell Flensted, given the fact that its own management described the financial results for many years as "unsatisfactory".
Nielsen responded that potential buyers were especially interested in Flensted's customers and the access to the Scandinavian market.
Asked whether Wernsing would be interested to keep the french fry factory in Skovlund in operation, the CEO of Flensted responded that he did not have much doubt about that. "We will of course have access to a larger market, through their sales network and beyond that we have access to a larger customer base, we will also be able to achieve synergies in the purchase of potatoes, vegetables, packaging, inputs and machinery"
