Lamb Weston International completed the full acquisition of Lamb Weston Alimentos Modernos S.A. in Argentina, ensuring operational continuity and seeking growth opportunities in the region. 

While the U.S.-based company announced the closure of one of its plants in Connell, Washington, it also revealed the purchase of the remaining 10% stake from Sociedad Comercial del Plata (SCP) in Lamb Weston Alimentos Modernos S.A. 

The company had acquired a 50% stake in 2019, increased it to 90% in 2022, and now has become the full owner of the company. This transaction marks a significant step in strengthening Lamb Weston’s presence in Argentina, reinforcing its commitment and responsibility to the food and agricultural industry in the region. 

Following this transaction, Lamb Weston Alimentos Modernos S.A. will continue operating as usual, and all current contracts and obligations with partners, clients, suppliers, and employees will remain fully intact. This ensures that all business relationships will continue without operational disruptions. 

The company views this acquisition as a strategic advantage that will improve operational efficiency and foster growth opportunities in Argentina and the Latin American market. Lamb Weston appreciates SCP’s contribution to the company’s development over the past few years.
