Machine learning driven crop insights tool HarvestEye will be exhibiting on the global agronomy stage at Fruit Logistica, bringing new compatibility to the international fresh produce sector.

Fitting to harvesting or grading equipment, HarvestEye is a cost-effective method to deliver visibility - via an online portal and daily reports - on the size, shape and mapping variability of crops.

The HarvestEye team has continued to train its machine learning model following the launch of its refreshed 2.0 system at Fruit Logistica 2023, which featured more than 2,600 exhibitors from 140 countries, with 63,000 trade visitors attending over the three days.

Trial and development over the past year has led to the system now being compatible with different varieties of onions, in addition to potatoes.

In addition to the machine learning model development, HarvestEye is set to launch its new handheld version of HarvestEye.

This uses the power and data insight of the system to allow customers to count and size crop pre-harvest during test digs.

Harry Tinson, general manager at HarvestEye:

"We are excited to once again be attending Fruit Logistica, showcasing the latest capabilities of HarvestEye to a global audience at the forefront of the fresh produce."

"HarvestEye 2.0 delivers faster crop measurement and more accurate data collection than its predecessor and we’ve received immensely positive feedback from growers during last year’s harvests about the usefulness and usability of the."

"We’ve also listened to our customers, by launching the all new HarvestEye Handheld, enabling customers to save time during their pre-harvest yield digs and further increasing utilisation of the technology."

"We are looking forward to continuing our dialogue with growers, packers and processors this year as we expand HarvestEye into new regions with distributorship opportunities available."

Vidyanath (Vee) Gururajan, managing director of HarvestEye:

"Fruit Logistica is an incredible opportunity for farming innovators like ourselves to showcase how machine learning and the wider field of artificial intelligence can provide unprecedented actionable insights."

"These tools no longer limit users to act on field sampling, but offer full crop visibility to improve decision making and supply chain confidence through increased visibility and reduced wastage."

HarvestEye will be exhibiting in Hall 3.1 Stand C-31 at Fruit Logistica alongside other innovators in farming machinery and technology.
