Duravant’s newly-formed Food Sorting and Handling Solutions group, which includes operating companies Key Technology, Multiscan Technologies, PPM Technologies and WECO, will exhibit for the first time together at Pack Expo Las Vegas, September 11 – 13th, in booth C-4230.

With world-class optical sorters, specialized conveyors and advanced turnkey processing line solutions, Duravant will display their expanded portfolio of automation technologies and newest innovations that optimize yield, ensure product quality, reduce labor and improve operating efficiencies for food growers and processors.

Jack Lee, Duravant Group President - Food Sorting and Handling Solutions:

"As processors and packers are looking to phase out in-house production line engineering, they’re turning to equipment suppliers who provide seamlessly integrated solutions with single-source responsibility."

"Our Food Sorting and Handling Solutions group brings together complementary technologies and expertise from several Duravant brands, so we can offer turnkey lines for a wider range of food applications."

"We’re continuing to evolve and add more value to our customers’ operations, both through R&D and with strategic acquisitions of industry-leaders like PPM, who joined our family of brands last month."
Key Technology will unveil their new and innovative COMPASS® food optical sorter. As the easiest-to-use optical sorter on the market, with a UI designed to mimic a smart device app, COMPASS achieves consistently high foreign material and product defect removal while simplifying system operation, sanitation and maintenance.

Ideal for sorting a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, snack foods and more, this innovative sorting system helps processors automate and improves quality management of their food products, while maximizing yield and increasing profitability.

WECO will be showcasing their integrated Sortivator fresh-pack line for blueberries which can be customized to incorporate systems for eliminating debris, removing soft fruit, sorting by color and/or sorting by size. Suitable for big and small operations, whether the berries are harvested mechanically or by hand, the Sortivator line provides fast, gentle, and effective blueberry sorting controlled from a single touchscreen control panel.

Multiscan’s vision technology is also on display in Duravant’s Pack Expo Las Vegas booth. The S30 line is designed for sorting small products such as cherry and grape tomatoes as well as in-shell nuts by quality, color, size and shape.

The system relies on Multiscan’s SpinSort technology to turn individual product pieces 360-degrees for comprehensive inspection and thorough removal of defects. This versatile system automates product sorting to maximize line efficiency.

PPM Technologies is presenting their compact Mini VF electromagnetic vibratory motion conveyor for product handling. Powered by a universal low-frequency drive and PPM’s patented feedback sensor, the Mini VF offers total control of production flow rates.

Gently handling a variety of products including snack foods, cereals, confectionaries and vegetables, this versatile and cost-efficient conveyor improves sanitation, reduces maintenance and offers maximum reliability over long life cycles.

Also on exhibit is Key Technology’s reversible Zephyr™ horizontal-motion conveyor. Achieving higher capacities than other horizontal-motion conveyors, Zephyr’s unique motion profile gently slides product to convey with no segregation or stratification to protect product quality and reduce noise. The reversible Zephyr, equipped to flow in either direction, maximizes line versatility while improving sanitation and minimizing maintenance.
