Former McCain Australia exec Steve Yung set to take helm at NZ Seafood processor Sealord

The New Zealand Seafood Processor Sealord is set to name the former managing director of McCain Foods in Australia and New Zealand as its new CEO, sources told Undercurrent News.

Steve Yung, who worked in a variety of roles for McCain Foods, the world’s largest producer of French fries, is set to be announced as CEO next week, sources told Undercurrent.

Sealord declined to comment. Melbourne-based Yung did not return request for comment.

From 1995-1998, Yung was vice president of marketing for McCain in Canada, where the company’s head office is, according to his Linkedin profile.

From 1998-2005, he was managing director of McCain Australia and also took over the New Zealand business from 2005 to 2013.
