It will produce Lay's ® chips. The production capacity of the line is more than 5 thousand tons of finished products per year.
Ekaterina Zinovyeva, Minister of Investments, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region:
“The PepsiCo company has been operating in the Moscow region for over 20 years. Right now the enterprise in the Kashirsky District employs about 1000 people. Launching a new production line means creating new jobs."
"Additionally, about 80 people will be provided with jobs. Investments in the project will amount to more than 650 million rubles."
Frito Lay Manufacturing is the largest industrial consumer of potatoes in the region.
Raw materials for the production of snacks in the Moscow region are purchased from Russian suppliers, including farms from the Moscow region - Kashirsky, Stupinsky and Kolomensky districts. The expansion of production will increase the volume of purchases of potatoes from Russian and Moscow region farmers.
Neil Sturrock, President of PepsiCo in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, the Caucasus and Central Asia:
"The plant in Kashira was opened in 2002 and became the first PepsiCo enterprise in Russia to produce snacks. Today it is the largest PepsiCo enterprise in the world in this field."
"Thanks to the investment appeal of the region and the support of the Moscow Regional Government, we are constantly developing. In 2019, we implemented a large-scale project to expand the production of Lay's chips. A year later, we are launching another line for the production of chips."
