Originally founded by Pfanni Otto Eckart KG in 1966, the Cloppenburg plant has belonged to the Emsland Group since 2000. Since then, the plant has specialized in the production of potato flakes.
With an annual output of 85,000 tons of potato flakes, the plant in Cloppenburg is one of the largest flakes plants of Emsland Food GmbH. Overall, some 400,000 tons potatoes, which are grown by contract farmers from the region and stored properly before processing, are processed into high-quality flakes products.
More than 85 % of the potato flakes produced are exported and successfully used in Europe, Asia and Africa. They are primarily used in the snack and baked goods industries, and as a binding agent for soups and sauces.
Approximately 100 employees at the Cloppenburg plant work in four shifts around the clock to guarantee that production takes place on time and that the stringent quality requirements are upheld.
