KETTLE® is launching an innovative new lower-calorie snack range in the United Kingdom: KETTLE® Baked Chips. 

KETTLE® Baked Chips are aimed at health-conscious female consumers who are looking for a lighter, ‘better-for-you’ snack without compromising on taste. They contain less than 100 calories and 70% less fat per 25g serving compared to standard ready salted crisps. 

KETTLE® Baked Chips have been devised with the intention of creating a truly authentic alternative to other low-calorie snacks on the market, with great taste central to the product. In keeping with the KETTLE® ethos, the new Baked Chips are made from real food ingredients, with absolutely no hidden nasties. 

KETTLE® Baked Chips are made from the finest potatoes, which have been sliced with the skins on and then oven-baked to offer a crispy chip. They will be available in two tasty variants – Sweet Chilli and Cream Cheese & Chive. The eye catching packs will appear on shelf from mid January, in time for the post-Christmas diet season.

Better for You is a significant and growing category in snacking with handy pack sales up by 62% within Impulse (Nielsen Impulse Value Sales MAT to 7th December 2013). We know that 58% of consumers now actively look for healthy options and 44% examine the fat content when buying food (Nielsen Impulse Value Sales MAT to 7th December 2013). The new KETTLE® Baked Chips researched extremely positively with consumers and will benefit retailers by filling the gap between healthier snacking and 100% authentic great taste.” 

The packaging has been designed to complement the core range using strong colours and prominent KETTLE® branding. The calorie and fat messaging is clearly communicated on the front of pack and the use of a baking tray and seasoning ingredients impart a home cooked feel and deliver high taste expectations. The 25g packs are ideal for the home or office environments, as well as for snacking on-the-go. 

The new products are being listed by wholesalers and distributors to local independent retailers.
