Inspired by Brazilian consumers eager to new products, Serya Alimentos decided to go beyond the traditional pre-fried French-Fries and created the first Brazilian factory dedicated to producing potato specialties.

Despite recent difficulties experienced by the Brazilian economy, the company decided, in the words of CEO Frederico Ayres, "not to participate" of the crisis and in addition to reporting consistent growth of sales in 2016, the company has just approved, in partnership with BDMG and FINEP, a credit line dedicated to investments in innovation. “We are glad to announce that in spite of being an extremely hard approval process, we were successful to obtain this loan, proving again our focus on innovation”, said Ayres.

It is the second credit line approved which is related to innovation activities, both in partnership with BDMG, which has been a major sponsor of the company´s initiatives.

According to Ayres, innovation at Sérya starts with the production line which has been designed to guarantee high flexibility output, which can be confirmed by the fact that it produces at the same layout both shredded and mash potato products, pre-fried or not.

"The funds raised aims precisely to further leverage this flexibility and bring new product opportunities to retail customers and food service". The goal is to expand the portfolio of value-added products, which according to the company delivers convenience also helping customers to better monetize their operations, introducing innovations and increasing competitiveness.

The company has already two traditional products in the portfolio, one hash brown style (Rustí) and the other made from mash potato (Batatinha Quando Assa), “but for sure in a short term we will bring new products to the market” concluded Ayres.
